# Control Panels

#### Overview

Macula introduces Control Panels – a powerful feature that enables real-time monitoring of system states, device statuses, and various metrics directly within the viewport. These panels are configured in the Macula Console and displayed in the Macula Monitor, offering a concise and interactive overview of system health and performance.

#### Adding control panels

Once configured, Control Panels appear in Macula Monitor under the Control Panels section. To add a panel to the viewport, double-click it or drag and drop it into a preferred viewport. When added to a layout, the panel is displayed inside the selected viewport, showing up-to-date values and statuses for all items.

Each item is updated live and displays state-specific visual indicators (e.g., green for active, red for offline). This enables quick diagnostics directly within your layout view.
