Video Sharing
(BETA Version)
Overview
Welcome to the Macula video-sharing beta program! We are excited to introduce a new feature for instant video sharing to any device with the browser and internet access!
PLEASE, CONSIDER THAT YOU ARE USING BETA VERSION OF THIS FEATURE. WE CAN'T GUARANTEE IT'S STABILITY. ALTHOUGH WE ARE HAPPY TO RECEIVE YOUR FEEDBACK THROUGH OUR SUPPORT ENGINEERS, SOME ISSUES MAY BE RESOLVED ONLY WITH THE NEXT RELEASES.
Key Features and Functionalities
This feature allows you to share videos via links directly from the Macula Monitor application and automatically email them or copy and share links manually.
Key functionalities:
Video clips are marked in the Macula Monitor application and shared with target emails
Email and 2FA verification are available as security options
Sharing duration can be limited by time
Shared video is accessible in any browser via provided link
In the software version 1.28, the video-sharing feature is available in a BETA with the following nuances:
For Macula Professional 1.28, or later, and Macula Enterprise 1.30
Link sharing and video streaming are available via the cloud (the Macula Professional must be registered in the cloud)
Video only (no audio)
We also keep in mind your security so that the links can be protected by email (passcode) and verification code (2FA)
Sharing the video via the Cloud
If the Sharing options are configured by your administrator, you will be able to share any recorded video directly from the Macula Monitor. To do so:
Open the Macula Monitor -> Playback
Select Viewport with the video you want to share
Mark the section of the video on the Timeline with the Custom Selection tool

At the bottom-right corner, locate the Video Sharing icon and click it

This will bring the Share Video pop-up window. Provided fields allow you to change:
Export from channel field: You can switch to another channel by changing the value of this field.
Exported video time interval field: By default, an interval is marked on the timeline, but you can adjust it by manually filling in the beginning and end times.
Video Title field: By default, the Title is generated automatically and consists of the channel name and shared interval, but you can also provide a custom title.
Description field: You can provide any additional information in this field. It will be displayed in the browser under the video player section.
Video link expiration date and time field: Add the date and time when the video becomes inaccessible. The value can’t exceed the Maximum sharing time provided in the Macula Console settings.
Restrict Access to specific email(s) field: Add one or more email addresses by writing down the email and pressing the Plus button. If the Require mail checkbox is not marked in the Macula Console settings, you will be able to share videos without providing any emails. Otherwise, you will be forced to provide at least one email.
Require email verification checkbox: Even if the Macula Console setting for the email verification is turned off, you can still force the user to provide at least email verification directly from the monitor.
Display shared video URL checkbox: This will show you the link you share after the video sharing confirmation. The checkbox is checked and greyed out if the email is not required and provided.
If you do not provide an email, the link displayed after video sharing confirmation is the only place to copy it!

After clicking the Share video button, the new pop-up window will be displayed with the sharing info and generated link. Copy the provided video-sharing link by clicking the Copy button at the right side of the Shared video link field.

Now, you are ready to review the provided video-sharing link in any browser that supports shared video format.
Watching Shared video
After you receive the Video-sharing link, just copy it to your browser. If the verification or validation options are required, provide your email and/or validation code.
