Chrome Remote Desktop

ECA supports Chrome Remote Desktop which allows connection from a remote PC using your own Google account without requiring any port forwarding.

Adding ECA to your Chrome Remote Desktop list

  1. On the ECA, using Microsoft Edge browser, go to https://remotedesktop.google.com/headless

Internet connection is required for the ECA.

  1. If you haven't sign in to your Google account, please sign in now.

  1. Click Begin

  1. Click Next

  1. Click Authorize

  1. Click Copy command for Windows (Cmd). This will copy the texts into clipboard.

If you are performing the above steps from another PC, you may copy-and-paste the texts into a notepad text file. Then, save this text file into a removable USB storage.

  1. Go to Support in ecaOS Dashboard (refer Access ecaOS DashBoard)

  2. Click Setup button under Chrome Remote Desktop.

  1. Paste the texts copied in earlier step into Command box. Then, enter a 6-digits number into PIN box. This PIN will be used as the passcode for Chrome Remote Desktop connection in future. Then, press Setup.

  1. The service status of Chrome Remote Desktop becomes 'Started'.


Accessing ECA from a Remote PC using Chrome Remote Desktop

  1. On the remote PC, using Chrome web browser, go to https://remote.google.com/access

  2. Login using the same Google account you have used in Adding ECA to your Chrome Remote Desktop list

  1. The ECA you have added will appear under Remote devices. For ECA that is online, you may double-click its DC number to establishconnection.

  1. Insert the PIN you have created in Adding ECA to your Chrome Remote Desktop list. Then, press .

  1. When the correct PIN is entered, connection to ECA via Chrome Remote Desktop shall establish successfully.
