Save Layer

Applicability

• ecaOS 6

Description

• Creates a complete backup of the SYSTEM C: partition

• Save layer will save current user's working layer

• This layer will contain all current configurations, such as video management software, windows networking setting, etc

Requirement

• USB Security Key or ECA Access Code

Duration required for completion of Save Layer is approximately 30-40 minutes. While Save Layer is in progress, the system is not usable. This incur system downtime.

Procedure

1. Ensure you have the USB Security Key or ECA Access Code ready. Every ECA has its dedicated unique key and cannot be shared with other ECA. Refer to Enrol Virtual Security Key for ECA Access Code

2. Launch ecaOS Dashboard from Taskbar and login. Refer to Access ecaOS DashBoard

1. In Dashboard, go to Management ▶ General.

2. Click Save Layer button.

1. Type 'Save Layer' to confirm proceed. Then, press the Save Deployment Layer button. If you used the USB Security Key to access the dashboard please unplug it now.

1. ECA will reboot into Layer Manager.

1. Save Deployment Layer will begin after 10 seconds countdown.

If you want to cancel the operation, you may click Cancel within the 10 seconds countdown. The system will remain in Layer Manager once the process is cancelled.

1. Save Deployment Layer progress is shown in percentage. The process will take about 30 to 40 minutes.

1. ECA will automatically reboot into ecaOS after completion.
